Behavior Procedures

Class Dojo is all online and is a great, private tool for tracking student behavior. Dojo even has an app for parents and teachers to track student behavior away from the computer.

Each student can log into Class Dojo at home and create his/her own Dojo Monster. This really gets the kids into owning Dojo and wanting to perform their best at school. They love seeing their Dojo Monsters on the screen at school and talking about them with their friends.

Dojo in Mrs. Murray's Classroom

Each student starts each week with 0 points. Students earn points as the day goes on (usually about 7 points per day) for participation, following directions/procedures, teamwork, and other whole class accomplishments. Students are also able to earn points when making good decisions, respecting peers / classroom materials, or simply by following procedures and setting good examples for others.

Please note that students EARN their points, points are not "given" or "taken" by adults.

I will set a Dojo Goal for the end of the week for each student. If the student reaches his/her Dojo Goal, (s)he will receive a prize from our treasure box.  If a child does not meet his/her Dojo goal for the week, there is no consequence involved.  We simply start over next week and try again.

In Class Dojo I can leave messages on each students' individual profile that only the parent can read. Parents can also message me! I can send photos, recordings, and even group messages as well. This has come in handy when we have bad weather days or when I need to send a reminder note about special days or last minute announcements.
