Kindergarten Math

The beginning of Kindergarten is when we introduce basic math skills.
One goal for the end of the school year will be for every student to recognize
numbers 1-100 and be able to count to 100 by ones and by tens.

We will also focus on measurement, 2D & 3D shapes, numbers to 100, and basic addition & subtraction.

Learning the 100s Chart is going to be VERY helpful for your child.

The chart below is color coded to help your child learn to count not only by ones, but also by fives and tens.  Skip counting is an important skill needed to
advance while learning math basics.

There is a new cartoon called Numberblocks for young children.  It is a GREAT resource for your child to build number sense and learn many different Math concepts.  If you have Netflix, you can watch Numberblocks there, but there are also Numberblocks videos available on YouTube.  Be sure the check them out!
