We have a Word Wall in our Classroom!
 
I will post our word(s) of the week on the word wall when introduced in class. All of our "high frequency words" will be introduced through a poem we read together in order to allow the kids to see the word in print and used in sentences. We will also practice reading the words in isolation (not in the weekly poem).  

We will review these words on a daily basis. This will help your child become more fluent while reading books as well as during writing.
 
We will be learning 40 words from the first 50 Fry Words. These are most words from List 1 and List 2 pictured below. If you would like more information about "Fry Words", feel free to Google the term. Once your child moves on to 1st grade, all 100 Fry Words from the first list will be introduced.
